Breastfeeding is the best gift we can give to our child, our family and ourselves. However this is not always easy, it is not just question of mixing powder with water, and often the first steps are difficult and full of doubts. Is there enough milk? How should I be positioned and how should the child be positioned? Why does the child sleep so little? Am I doing well? ... Assistance, support and advice can be very valuable.

Breastfeeding is a pleasure

After a few weeks breastfeeding becomes a pleasure much easier and enjoyable than mixing powder with water. Nothing to clean or sterilize, and the meal is always ready, perfectly adapted, varied and at the right temperature at all time!

Another major bonus is the impact on the immune system and brain development in infants. As for the mother, risk of breast and ovarian cancer is decreased.

What happiness it is, to feel the child snuggling against you full of confidence and serenity. See those eyes attentive, grateful and happy. Hear this mouth, sometimes greedy with regular grunts sighs or smiles of satisfaction. Knowing that one has the magic potion, one that cures many ills, from hunger to little sore bits, through all the little anguish times.

Breastfeeding may also strengthen unifying ties within the family. Although it is the mother who is nursing, the father plays a key role in the success of this endeavor, by choosing breastfeeding, and being involved.

Currently, only half of French mothers out of the maternity are breastfeeding, compared to 95% of Norwegian and 85% of German. Yet 75% of French women say they are tempted by breastfeeding. Participating in the upcoming events is a good way to learn and give your support to this cause.

The Great Breastfeeding

The Great breastfeeding will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2 pm. This is an opportunity to meet other moms and learn about what breastfeeding. It is also of course the opportunity to share and promote the benefits of breastfeeding.

The Global Week of Breastfeeding

The Global Week of breastfeeding will be held from 12 to 18 October 2009. It is time to encourage support and protect breastfeeding. This year's highlighted theme is "breastfeeding benefits in crisis situations".
